About the Opportunity
The HR/Payroll Assistant is responsible for providing administrative support to the Human Resources department. This is a part-time position at 20 hours per week.
Job Duties:
  • Collect timesheets and job rosters, and ensure that they are complete and correct. Research and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Coordinate pre-employment process for new hires. Collect required documents, set up drug tests/background checks/safety tests and monitor results.
  • Complete accurate reporting of employee data to appropriate agencies.
  • Process enrollments and terminations for health insurance and 401k plan.
  • Monitor expiration dates on employee certifications and maintain communication to ensure timely renewals.
  • Create and maintain personnel files.
  • Backup to process payroll utilizing Accubuild software.
  • Screen and route incoming calls on a multi-line phone system.
  • Make travel arrangements for field employees.
  • Other administrative duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent. Some college preferred.
  • At least 2 years previous experience in an administrative role.
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organization skills, with ability to prioritize multiple tasks with ease.
  • Ability to perform tasks with accuracy and careful attention to detail.
  • Ability to learn quickly and be flexible.
  • Must maintain highest level of confidentiality at all times.
