ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
We are actively seeking Construction Project Engineers who will be responsible for field project support including scheduling, RFI’s, submittals, recordkeeping, and other related tasks.
 
Job Duties:
  • Study and understand contract specifications, drawings, and associated scope of work requirements of each project before the project begins and during construction operations.
  • Communicate and coordinate with other contractors, suppliers, project management staff, and outside agencies.
  • Coordinate material deliveries and subcontract work in accordance with project schedule.
  • Ensure that submittals are submitted, received, corrected, approved and returned to subcontractors on time.
  • Prepare RFI’s and other written correspondence to clients and subcontractors.
  • Monitor progress of project budgets and schedules, and recommend adjustments if needed.
  • Understand changes in contract work and request change orders as applicable.
  • Draft and implement shop drawings for field construction.
  • Survey and layout for field construction.
  • Assist project superintendent with construction oversight and quality control.
  • Track and submit monthly contract pay estimates/quantities.
  • Review and approve payments to suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Maintain organized documentation, specifications, estimates, submittals, and contract drawings.
  • Maintain professional demeanor and demonstrate respect to co-workers, customers, etc.
 
Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Some related experience in the construction industry.
  • Knowledge of construction principles, techniques, materials, and cost estimation fundamentals.
  • Proficient with CAD and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong problem solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize workload and multi-task with ease.
  • Strong interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
